WALKING IN THE POWER OF THE RESURRECTION
If grace covers all our sins, does that give us permission to keep sinning? The answer is a resounding no, but not for the reasons we might expect. We discover that something profound happened when we came to Christ - we didn't just receive forgiveness, we underwent a spiritual death and resurrection. The old self, patterned after Adam and enslaved to sin, was crucified with Christ. We emerged from the waters of baptism as new creations, no longer sons and daughters of Adam, but children of God with a fundamentally different nature. This isn't about trying harder to be good or white-knuckling our way through temptation. It's about reckoning with a spiritual reality: we are dead to sin and alive to God. Like a butterfly that doesn't realize it has wings, many believers continue crawling through life unaware of the transformation that has occurred within them. The key to victory isn't just abstaining from wrong but actively living in the newness of life - feeding our spirits, praising God, serving others, and walking in our new identity. We're no longer pigs looking for mud to wallow in, but lambs who cry out for the Shepherd when we find ourselves stuck. Understanding this truth doesn't just change our theology - it revolutionizes how we live every single day.
